X-WR-CALDESC:Thank you for your interest in attending Catholics at the Capi
tol on March 9! This year we will be at St. Mary's Church (1420 K St. in L
incoln).\n \nThroughout the morning and over the lunch hour\, you will hea
r from Nebraska Catholic Conference staff and several State Senators. They
will provide you with updates on important and critical issues facing the
legislature and be available for Q&A. As well\, you’ll get the opportunit
y to visit the Nebraska Legislature while they are in session to listen to
floor debate. NCC staff will also provide you with faithful citizenship a
dvocacy training on how to talk to your State Senator and other elected of
ficials. Finally\, you will put your advocacy skills into practice when we
head over to the Capitol for meetings with your State Senator.\n\nWe are
excited for the line-up of State Senators you will hear from. While it goe
s without saying\, the various State Senators you will hear from agree or
disagree to greater or lesser degrees with some of the major issues the NC
C works on. As Catholics\, we are situated in a way that we find a path to
work with everybody along the political spectrum on a variety of differen
t issues ranging from womb to tomb. We find ways to strongly ally with tho
se who share our core convictions\, as well as challenge each other where
the differences are more minor yet important. We also find ways to build i
mportant common ground with those with whom we may not share the same core
convictions\, and we do so without ever compromising our adherence and wi
tness to the great truths that have been handed down to us. In doing so\,
this allows us to carry forward those great tenets of our faith: truth and
charity.\n\nRegistration for this event is $15\, which covers coffee\, ro
