All persons have a right to participate in society in a manner which acknowledges and respects their dignity as members of the human community. The Conference represents a tradition which opposes oppression, exploitation, discrimination, and disrespect and advocates for social policies and conditions which promote justice, religious liberty and conscience rights, and bolster the dignity and value of every person. Healthcare is a basic human right which flows from the sacred dignity of human life. The Conference advocates for universal access to adequate medical care. The Conference also addresses the many medical-moral issues which challenge the healthcare system and society as a whole.
